Dried MilkDried, or Powdered Milk is a School Recipes staple. Perfect for long-term storage and very economical, it is a must for that authentic school dinner taste. But of course, you can always substitute the same amount of powder + water with real milk!
 
OxoOxo is a food brand known mostly for their stock cubes. The best known flavour of stock cube is the original beef cube, but now, in addition to beef, Oxo make chicken and other flavours. Any other beef stock can be substituted where an Oxo stock is mentioned.
 
SpamSpam is a canned precooked meat product. The labeled ingredients in the Classic variety of Spam are: chopped pork shoulder meat with ham meat added, salt, water, sugar, and sodium nitrite to help keep its color.
 
Strawberry CornflourStrawberry Cornflour is the old ingredient as used by real school dinner ladies (and men!) and may not be so readily available these days. However, Strawberry Blancmange packet mix has the same ingredients so is basically the same thing.
 
TVP

Textured or texturized vegetable protein (TVP), also known as textured soy protein (TSP) is a meat substitute made from defatted soy flour, a by-product of making soybean oil. It is quick to cook, high in protein, and low in fat. So, this is basically Tofu or Quorn.
